Hurra! Kongoveteranene har vunnet en ny krans: Offisielt utvalgt til Toronto Film and Script Awards. Tusen takk til alle som har hjulpet til med å realisere filmen.

Fantastisk! Kongoveteranene er valgt ut til fire ulike filmfestivaler i Sverige: Boden International Film Festival, Luleå International Film Festival, Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF), og Stockholm City Film Festival.

På tre av festivalene vant filmen pris for beste dokumenter, mens den nådde finalen under SIFF. Nå gleder vi oss til å få vist filmen i Norge.

Kongoveteranene har gjort det godt på to festivaler for uavhengig dokumentarfilm. Under Montreal Independent Film Festival gikk filmen til seminfinale for beste langdokumentar. Den har også blitt nominert til beste dokumentarfilm under Cannes International Cinema Festival.

Filmplakaten til Kongoveteranene er klar. Den er designet av grafiker Philip Hauglin. Under sees plakaten i engelsk form. Den engelske tittelen på filmen er Congo 1961.

From the 3^rd to the 4^th of June, the Barents cooperation celebrated its 20^th anniversary in Kirkenes. As part of the official program, The New Russia was screened in the city.

Virvel Film is proud to announce that out movie, The New Russia has been selected for Tromsø International Film Festival. The film will be screened as part of the Films from the North-program. The Russian organization Nature and Youth and Kola Environmental Centre finds itself monitored, as President Putin pushes for a new controversial NGO-law.

The two groupa is partly funded by their Norwegian co-partner, but says they will not cease receiving funding from abroad.

“I think we will not cease to receive funding from abroad. We will look for other opportunities in this difficult matter,” says Director of Kola Ecological Center (KEC), Yura Ivanov to BarentsObserver.

The New Russiais selected for the official program at the 39th International Festival of Sustainable Development Films (Ekotopfilm) in Slovakia.

After the premier in Bratislava in October, the film will be screened throughout the country, among other places in the city of Košice th 6^th of November, and in the Cinemax theatre of the city of Žilina the 20^th of November. See link: Ekotopfilm
